The Döner Kebab is the familiar fast food for Berliner and a must try for visitors also.
You will find Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebap everywhere, on the guide book, news papers and magazines. It is kind of tourist spots, but still locals also go to this place to have an amazingly great kebab.
There are so many kebab stands in Berlin, and it is often said that Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebap sells one of the best kebab.
The small stand is located just outside of a subway stop, Mehringdamm, and you will find a long line in front of you. You will be surprised at the length of line, but give it a try. It worth.

Let’s see how they make what-people-call-special kebab.
Firstly, the bread at Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebap is very crispy outside and soft inside.
A guy at stall quickly pastes the 3 types of sauce (herbs, chili and garlic), then put perfectly cooked chicken on it.
After that fresh salads and fried veggies go into it, which include onions, tomatoes, potatoes, cucumbers and so on.
Before serving, top some feta cheese and squeeze lemon just to make all together and add some freshness.

You may opt for the bun or tortilla, and when a guy making kebab, you can tell him what you don’t need. If you don’t like spicy food, I recommend you not to have chili sauce in your kebab.
They also have vegetarian kebab.
With your kebeb, please try Ayran which is Turkish drink similar to yogurt. This is a little bit salty but good to be paired with meat.
The store just opposite Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebap sells beer. This is also good to have with.
Best time to go

Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebap has always long line and sometimes more than 50 people are in line. This makes you wait more than 1 hour, at longest 2hours.
If you do not wait that long, please go before 11 am, there are already some people waiting, but not as many as in the afternoon.
Then you can get your food in around 15 minutes or less.
Unfortunately if you go super busy time, please head for curry 36 nearby leaving your company in the line. It is another snack stand which is famous for Currywurst. This is also a must in Berlin , hence have this until you reach your kebab while waiting in the line.
