About Jerk Pan

Jerk Pan has been around midtown since 2009, where many food trucks are, and it is on the new face side in that area.

During lunch time, many business people make the long waiting line to get their affordable and big portion plate. Even a small size is huge there!

They don’t advertise themselves a lot and you hardly see them on any media. It is because word of mouth has been more than enough to let people know how good they are.

Proving that, it wasn’t long until they opened 2nd location on the corner of 56th St and 3rd Ave.

Menues

Not so many people are familiar with Jamaican food. Their menu consists of the jerk chicken, brown stew chicken, curry goat, oxtail, curry shrimp and the fried chicken.

The plate comes with your choice of white rice or rice and peas. Peas here means beans.

If you are there for the first time, just try rice and peas which is more Jamaican style. It is a bit dry hence be sure to ask additional the optional gravy. The gravy has small pieces of meat and add good flavor to your rice.

If you pay additional $2, you will get bigger plate and a side dish which you can choose from cabbage salad, plantains or macaroni salad.

Their Signature “The Jerk Chicken”

The most popular menu is The Jerk Chicken and the huge chunks of chicken come on the rice. They are enough tender to fall off the bone so that you don’t need knife for those.

The chicken is also spicy-Jamaican-seasoned and the additional gravy sauce makes it a perfect couple with rice! Also you will like the different texture of the charred skin and moist underneath.

Another Recommendation, Oxtail

If you would like to avoid a basic one, Oxtail is there for you. The oxtail is stewed for many hours to be tender and the sauce is seeped in. Hence your mouth will be full of flavor after every bite.

Some review says it is a bit salty, hence do not forget to get a bottle of water in advance.

As I introduced above, Jerk Pan is a perfect place to fill you especially when you are really hungry or don’t have enough time to eat at restaurants.

Just one advice for ladies, try to avoid going with your boyfriend, because you want to be messy at Jerk Pan.
